Task Analysis:
1. Using the skills obtained in identifying letters (see prerequisite COG 36), begin by asking the student to point to a specific letter from a randomly presented field of three choices.
2. Continue the concept of Step 1, adding asking the student to repeat the name of the letter selected.
3. Modify Step 2 into a "card game" format, asking the student to pick a card and tell you the name of the letter. Another way of doing this task is in a group format if a number of students need this type of skill.
4. Gradually increase the number of samples given to the student, up to five random examples.
5. Continue until the objective is met.
