So, I had my Jensen autograph today at Asylum14 and I swear to god, it was something straight out of a reader insert. It made my whole weekend.
Like any auto panel, you’re queuing for ages, and I finally give my photo to his assistant and there chatting for a bit then he turns to me and says hey but it was so like Dean. Like how Dean would say it when he looks at chicks. Like that gruff, “Hey.” If that makes sense?
So he scribbled on my photo and I start telling him about the Always Keep Fighting Campaign and how it’s helped me, and how it’s feels to know that there’s someone there always behind you and supporting you. Whilst he was talking to me, i think he saw a glimpse of my arms which are scarred due to self harm and I totally forgot to wear a cardigan to cover them up so he couldn’t see them.
At this point he reaches out for my hand, And I was like, err, okay, so we’re doing the whole Tarzan and Jane thing at this point and he clasps my hand, leans forward, shoots me a blue steel and looks directly into my eyes. ((Just to say, his eyes are even more beautiful in person than any fan fiction would describe them.))
I was trying to hold back the tears. I had water in my eyes and my other hand covering my mouth because I was so shocked about what was happening. So he goes,
“You are a beautiful young lady, seriously, you are and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. Okay?”
And I burst into tears. Nodding and saying Okay to him. Happy and shocked tears because the man I look up to said that I was beautiful. He squeezes my hand and his hands were so soft but slightly cold, but comforting. Obviously other people are waiting, he hands me my photo, tells me to “take care sweetheart” gives me a cheeky wink, I say thank-you and then I leave.
If anyone tells you that you should never meet your idols, don’t listen to them. Save up the money to see them like I do. I save all my birthday money, my Christmas money and nearly half of every paycheck I get.
It’ll be one of the many things that I’ll think back to if I have a bad time. And it proves to Always Keep Fighting because if you give up, you’ll never know what you can achieve or the people you meet or the experiences you have.
