their applicationsinmicrobialfuelcell [1] as aseparator.Microbial
fuel cellsarebiochemicalenergydevicesthatconvertorganic
materials intoelectricitywiththehelpofelectrocatalyticactivity
of themicroorganisms [2]. Severalreportshavebeenpublishedon
the useofdifferentmicroorganisms,substrates,MFCconfigurations,
electrodefunctionalizationandsoontodecreasethecostof
operation andtoimprovethepoweroutput [3–5] of theMFC.
However,theseapproachescouldneitherdecreasethecostof
operation norincreasethepoweroutputdrasticallybecauseofits
severallimitations.Thecostcanalsobedecreasedsignificantly by
the useofalternatemembranestonafion whichisquiteexpensive.
