2.4. Experimental design
After the acclimation, 36 fish were separated into six groups
and transferred to the laboratory, placed into 6 glass tanks (6
fish/tank) and maintained for 24 h with controlled aeration and
temperature to recover from handling stress. One of the tanks
was used as a control, where 6 fish were kept for 6 h in a static
environment with constant aeration. The other five groups were
exposed, respectively, to 0.1, 0.5, 2.5, 5.0 and 10.0 mg L1 of Folidol
600, for a 6 h period in a static environment with constant aeration.
After this period, blood samples were collected from the tail
vein, the fish were sacrificed and tissue samples removed.
