The antifungal activity of crude extract was performed in Sabouraud's Dextrose agar (SDA) plates.
In short, 72 h old test fungal strains mentioned above were seeded individually over the surface of SDA plates using sterile cotton swabs and then wells of 6 mm diameter were made over agar plates.
Each well was then loaded with 100 ml of sample containing 500 mg of extract which was prepared by using DMSO. Fluconazole (75 mg) was used as a positive control and DMSO was used as a negative control. The plates were then incubated for 72 h at 37 1C.
The antifungal activity was determined in triplicates by measuring the diameter of the inhibition zone around the well.
