Greetings from Thailand. As Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University (MD-KKU), I would like to recommend Assistant Professor Amnat KITKHUANDEE, MD, to attend the international research fellowship program on skull base surgery at the Hospital of University of Arkansas, between April 1st, 2009 and March 31st, 2010.
Our medical school has a tertiary hospital which serves the northeastern region of Thailand (population 22 million). Our school has only 2 compared with about 200 nationwide (population of 65 million). Most of them work in Bangkok, the capital. In the Northeast, the ratio of 37 neurosurgeons per population yields a ratio of 1:600,000. We, therefore, must develop gifted staff such as Dr. KITKHUANDEE so that they can experience new research styles and develop relevant skills to an international standard which they can share forward upon their return.
I strongly recommend Dr. KITKHUANDEE. Moreover, I am confident that his inner drive and abilities will be an asset to your program. If I can be of further assistance in your review of his application, please feel free to contact me.
