Mg Al Cl LDH was synthesized under a nitrogen atmosphereat room temperature using the coprecipitation method, similarto the method previously described [14,16]. Briefly, MgCl2•6H2O(3 mmol) and AlCl3•6H2O (1 mmol) were dissolved in 10 mL of deionized water and quickly poured into the 40 mL NaOH solution (6 mmol) with vigorous stirring under a nitrogen atmosphereat room temperature. Then the solution containing the slurry wasstirred for 30 min and aged for 1 h and the resulting slurry was col-lected via centrifugation (5 min, 4500 min−1). The precipitate waswashed with deionized water twice and resuspended manually in50 mL of deionized water. Then the solution was treated hydrother-mally at 100◦C for 24 h to obtain homogen size. LDH crystalliteswere obtained via centrifugation and dried under a vacuum [18].The characterization or identification of MA, LDH and MA–LDHwere analyzed by FTIR. The zeta potential (surface charge) andmean particle diameter of LDH were determined with ZetasizerNanoseries (Malvern Instruments, UK) in deionized water at 25◦C.
