Nowadays the energy sector is faced with four main challenges: threat of climate change due to industrialization and urbanization with potentially destructive and irreversible effects, progressive reduction of supply security, growth and volatility of energy prices and the growing demand for energy in developing countries. So, a sustainable economic development can only be achieved if the world will be able to guarantee a reliable energy at affordable prices and make a rapid transformation towards efficient and low-carbon content energy supplies. Besides, the stagnation of sales prices of the main agricultural commodities required a rethinking of farm production strategies, aimed at increasing the added value of agrifood products or farmer's income
