Laws on Archaeological Sites and Antiques and Law on Fossils
The National Cultural Heritage Act of 2009 is the applicable law. The said law defines antique as “"a cultural property found locally which is one hundred (100) years in age, more or less, the production of which has ceased” . On the other hand, archeological area is defined as “any place, whether above or under ground, underwater or at sea level, containing fossils, artifacts and other cultural, geological, botanical, zoological materials which depict and document culturally relevant paleontological, prehistoric and/or historic events” .
