2.3. Mineral analysis
The digestion was performed with the aid of a microwave oven
cavity (Model Multiwave 3000) with a temperature sensor and
internal and external pressure. Quartz jars were used for digestion
of the samples, adapting procedures described by Menezes (2010).
For the microwave digestion of the cashew apple samples, 0.5 mL
of the juice was used, which had been digested with the diluted
oxidant mixture (1 mL of H2O2 and 2 mL of HNO3). Table 1
describes the heating program used during microwave digestion
of cashew apple juice.
