The policy expects Employees, Sectional Managers and Contractors to “Report work place hazards, accidents and recommendations but does not talk about ensuring implementation of recommendations by management.
HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION POLICY
The assurance of safety and hygiene is an essential requirement for the achievement and development of the project activities.
The management of Thai Rayon Public Company Limited (TRC) believes that safety and health of its employees and environmental protection are of paramount importance in all respects and levels of the company’s activities and that the continued success of our operation depends upon the protection of our resources, both personnel and material.
The management of TRC, together with every TRC employee and its subcontractor has totally committed to prevent personnel injury and damage to property and environment by complying with domestic legal and standards, and making the best effort for continual improvement. Therefore, in order to achieve our commitment:
MANAGEMENT WILL:
• Promote HSE and loss prevention.
• Maintain accident / incident prevention programs, system and techniques.
• Maintain fire, safety, survival and rescue training programs.
• Provide work environment in which occupational hazard are minimized.
• Optimize employee safety and environment hygiene.
• Communicate legal and regulatory requirements concerning employee safety and environmental hygiene to appropriate personnel.
SECTION MANAGERS WILL:
• Be the administrators of the TRC-HSE and loss prevention program and be responsible and accountable to management for a superior level of SHE performance.
• Evaluate the security risk of their facilities and recommend appropriate action.
• Provide the necessary direction, means and supervision to ensure safe working practices.
• Educate and train employees regarding job hazard and emergency.
• Report all accidents or incidents to the SHE Management committee.
ALL EMPLOYEES WILL:
• Cooperate and contribute towards the overall success of the TRC-HSE and loss prevention.
• Perform their job in the safest manner in accordance with TRC-HSE procedures.
• Report workplace hazards and recommend improvements.
• Report any activities, which appear to involve a breach of SHE.
SUBCONTRACTORS WILL:
• Comply with TRC-SHE rules, policies and procedures.
• Report an accidents and potential accident.
• Conducts regularly schedule SHE meeting with their employee.
• Read and sign the contractor’s checklist contained in this manual.
