VI. CONCLUSION
A compact low profile planar microstrip patch UHF RFID tag antenna mountable on metal object was designed. The structure of the proposed tag antenna includes meander feed line and double T-matching technique for size reduction and impedance matching respectively. The antenna does not contain any shorting plate or via hole which make it easier to fabricate. The proposed tag with the dimension of 58 x 34 x 0.85 mm3 operates in Malaysia frequency range with the tag reading range up to 3.1 m when attached on metallic object, while in free air the tag reading range is slightly lower, which is 2.9 m. The tag will be fabricated and measured and then compared with the simulated result in the next stage.
