To conclude, no significant modifications in the microstructure
of PLA and flax fibres (crystallinity, size and shape distribution)
were observed after treatments and processing, and the increased
mechanical performances of PLA/20% Flax T7 and T8 as compared
to PLA/20% Flax NT thus mainly originate from the interfacial
phenomenon brought by the alkaline pre-treatment and the GPS
treatment. It has to be noticed that upon re-heating in the DSC
experiments, the nucleation ability of the fibres is decreased by the
alkaline and GPS treatments
