It has been noted that women’s adherence to prenatal
care is related to the quality of care provided by such
services and health professionals(8). The higher proportion
of women in G2 receiving six or more prenatal
appointments, compared with G1, could have influenced
the lower prevalence of anaemia in G2. However, in
multivariate analysis the effect of membership of G2 on
anaemia did not change after adjusting for the effect of
variable number of prenatal appointments.
