Most of the work was carried out on
menhaden oil. Several Pacific Coast
species were tested for EPA and DHA
content. These included Alaska pollock
liver oil and Pacific whiting oil, both
high in EPA, and several tuna oils very
high in DHA (23-29 percent).
Work was also carried out on storage
of fish oils or fish oil fatty acid concentrates
in pressurized cans under inert gas
and with provision for metering out predetermined
amounts of the contents.
Such a procedure precludes any loss
from oxidation for an indefinite period
of time.
