The settings in which the participants consumed each
beverage were recoded into six major categories: at home
(usual place of residence); at work, university or during
commute; in social settings (such as cafés, restaurants, shopping
malls, friend’s houses); in public hotels or bars (i.e. social
settings licensed to sell alcohol without food); and before,
during or after exercise. These settings were previously identified
by focus group research as the main environments
in which this population group consumes sugary drinks.
