URA’s marketplace performance, proxy measures in term of”mindshare” show that our work is recognized both at the national and international levels. The proxy measures used are the international rankings and award accorded to Singapore, some of which can be attributed directly or indirectly to URA’s work in making Singapore a great city to live, work and play in.

The IMD WCY ranks nations according to their ability to create and maintain an environment that sustains the competitiveness of their enterprises.
Singapore maintained its 2nd position among 55 economies, in the 2008 ranking.10 different areas, ranging from starting a business and dealing with licences, to paying taxes and closing the business.
In 2008, Singapore continues to top the ranking for the ease of doing business for the second year running. This can be attributed to the governments efforts to make Singapore a business friendly economy with a regulatory environment that a highly conductive to operating a business
The pro-business improvements URA has made also contributed to Singapore’s overall business-friendly regulatory environment.
