Abstract
Due to the dramatic changes taking place in international culture and politics coupled with the rapid growth of the Christian church in developing and transitional cultures there has arisen an urgent need for trained and supported church leaders. As more sophisticated and elaborate educational strategies are developed to serve the church an immediate response can be to provide leadership training which can be offered in a simple workshop setting, is flexible enough to be adapted to anyone of a number of there cultures, and provides the tools necessary to enable the leader to teach others those principles he or she has leaned. This product addresses that need. The product is an examination of the humanitarian and educational needs of particular countries and cultures located within the Eurasia Region of the Church of the Nazarene. This research also evaluates the church's needs within those cultural circumstances. The conclusion is drawn from that research that a practical, flexible and culturally sensitive strategy for leadership development is the urgent need. The product establishes the contents of a leadership curriculum which acknowledges and uses the most current leadership theory, but turns to Jesus as primary authority and model. Ultimately the curriculum will be designed as workshops and be accompanied by self-study workbooks which may be adapted for use in international and cross cultural setting. Throughout this document the primary Scripture translations used will be the New International Version and the King James Version. All underlining and italics used with Scripture are used for emphasis and applied by this author.
