Based on the rationale of the Tripartite Influence Model(Keery,Shroff, etal.,2004;Thompson et al.,1999), we formulated a structural model to predict attitudes towards cosmetic surgery.In this
model there were two classes of predictor(media exposure and friend conversations)which were set to lead to the two proposed
mediators (internalisation and comparison).Internalisationand
comparison were set to lead to body dissatisfaction which,in turn,
was predicted to lead to favourable cosmetic surgery attitudes
