capacity of the free water surface flow CW system that
receives wastewater from an aquaculture farm and an
upflow anaerobic sludge blanket reactor (UASB) to
reduce heavy metal concentrations and to evaluate the
role of the sediment and the rooted aquatic macrophytes
Cyperus giganteus, Typha domingensisandPontederia
cordataand the floatingEichhornia crassipesin accumulating these metals, during the dry (winter) and rainy
(summer) seasons.
