It is far simpler to see that striving for an media image of something it wishes to program women into striving for is an endless pursuit (for example, the ceaseless rotations of clothing style fads) and is not ultimately possible to achieve.
Also, it is still falling into that line of thinking when one makes the statement that "what was already perfect to begin with." There is no perfect. There's just what people (or what women, in this case) are.
Outside of good hygeine, the rest is folly.
