This slide explain about the best results were obtained by extraction at 50 C with DVB/CAR/PDMS fibre from headspace above buckwheat soaked in water. Still, the number of compounds sorbed to the fibre was rather small, especially compared to other sample preparation techniques used in this study. With SBSE/HSSE, the transfer of buckwheat aroma compounds to the coating was very poor, either from headspace (HSSE) or from suspension (SBSE). As can be seen from Table 3, the same compounds have been identified as with SPME, except for tetrahydrofuran. As was seen already with SPME, the PDMS phase is not suitable for these compounds.
