The purpose of this study was to examine language learning strategies of students in Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen Campus. The subject, derived from purposive sampling method, were thirty Second year students in Field of Study in Physical Education and Health Education. Questionnaire and focus-group were used for data collection. Means (x̄), standard deviation (S.D.), and qualitative analysis were employed in analyzing data.
The research findings showed that students employ all language learning strategies in the moderate use. Each strategy reported to have different frequency use because of differences in learning styles, learning preferences, learning activities, and learning problems of the students. In conclusion, the students chose language learning strategies that they thought were the most suitable and effective in the improvement of language skills. The teachers, therefore, should know students’ needs and their preferable learning activities to integrate them with the classroom learning. This can increase students’ motivation in learning and benefit students the most. The teachers, therefore, should organize classroom activities methods of instruction compatible with students’ requirement so as to increase their learning motivation and end up with the utmost benefits.
