In India, foreigners dumped stocks last month for the first time since February, according to data provided by HSBC. Thailand too saw foreigners cut stock holdings for the first time in months following the death of the country’s octogenarian King Bhumibol Adulyadej , the world’s longest serving monarch.
Some emerging-market investors say they are closely monitoring the Fed’s actions but don’t expect major fallout like past years when fears flared around the central bank’s plans.
“A lot of these countries have had multiple years of preparation for a Fed move,” said Louis Lau, director of the investments group at Brandes Investment Partners in San Diego.
