Datura metel L. (devil’s trumpet) is a small perennials, usually
grown as an annuals herbaceous plant with white flowers, belonging
to the family Solanaceae and it is considered as one of the
most important medicinal plants throughout the world. The main
active constituents of the plant are the medicinally important tropane
alkaloids such as hyoscyamine and scopolamine (Cusidó et
al., 1999).
