The implications of these results could make commercial culture of this species more feasible and provide production altematives for aquaculturists. Facilities to rear cobia might not require coastal sites with high salinities , where land costs are generally higher and permits are difficult to obtain. Further research need to be conducted on this species to examine growth at salinities lower than 5 ppt to determine the minimum salinity required for rearing juvenilc cobia.
