The role of stress in OBX induced changes in basal locomotor activity, body temperature, heart rate variability is reported[28,30]. The importance of coordinated functional interactions between the HPA axis and sympathetic – adrenal – medullary system in promoting adaptive responses to stress from anxiety, or fear has been emphasized from past studies in animal models [31,32]. The role of stress reliving potential in OBX induced physiological changes is further supported fromthe reversal effects of OBX-induced changes in body temperature, and heart rate by INDCA in the present study.
