Rhoifoline A (8) and rhoifoline B (9) were inactive against all strains tested. From the single isolated, the compound with the widest spectrum of activity was chelerythrine (10), followed by bocconoline (6), dihydrochelerythrine (4) and dihydroavicine (5).
