Turkey

Ham
High in sodium especially if smoked, cured, salted or canned. Eat moderately, or opt for low-sodium alternatives, such as fresh or frozen beef, lamb, pork, poultry or fish.
Shepherd’s Pie
A meat pie with mashed potatoes instead of a pastry on top. This family favorite but can contain high amounts of sodium and calories. However, it can be enjoyed by preparing with less meat and more vegetables, such as peas, carrots and beans inside. With all the options for vegetables, you can even forgo the meat all together. For the potato top layer, you can also use sweet potatoes instead of the usual white potatoes.
