You will receive a phone call from the Day Surgery Unit Satff thr day prior to your admission to advise fasting instructions and admission time.
You will need to discuss the taking of your medications with the nurse or anaesthetist at Pac.
Diabetic patients' please do not take your regular medication/insulin on the morning. Please bring the medication/insulin with you to given at the appropriate time.
Do not drink alcohol before the surgery.
Try to have a good night.
Wear loose and comfortable clothing to the unit.
Do not wear make-up.
If you are breast-feeding,you will need to arrange for a friend or relative to care for your child. We ask that you make alternative arrangements for the care of other children. You should speck to the anaesthetist at the Pac about expressing gor post-op.
For those patients who will be staying overnight in the main ward area, you will need to bring toiletries and sleepwear.
Please do not bring any valuables with you to hospital however, please remember your glasses case.
If you develop a cough/cold/sore throat, please phone the hospital
Postponing your durgery may be in your best interest and early notification will enable us to rearrange our operating time.
If you wish to speak to the surgeon prior to surgery,please mention this to the staff.
Please arrive at the correct time , do not panic if you are running late do not speed to get here. If you have a mobile pleaes phone to advise you are running late.
