The development of deformation modulus with curing time and binder content is well consistent with compressive strength. A linear function between deformation modulus and compressive strength is found and depicted as E50 = 119.91 UCSwith R2 of 0.8013. The deformation modulus varying mainly between 50 and 200 MPa is 60–170 times greater than the UCS value. Finally, the microstructure of solidified sediments is analyzed to explore the change of sediment fabric
and explain the reason of strength improvement due to the chemical and physical reaction between sediments and binders in the presence of water.
