The new system will enable users to not only transfer money in and out of their BBVA accounts without paying the usual maintenance fees but also to do it through a trustworthy, secure platform.
The reason behind BBVA’s decision to launch this new service is due to Facebook‘s popularity among Chileans.
Andres Abarzua, BBVA Chile Product Manager explained that more than 90 percent of Chileans with access to Internet have a Facebook account.
The bank is hoping that the new service, boosted by Facebook’s popularity will benefit many people’s lives with regards to online banking.
Bank officials reveal that for the moment there are no plans to expand the service to include cross border transactions, at least not this year.
The maximum monthly amount that can be credited and transferred to one account through the Facebook service is CLP $300,000 — which amounts to roughly USD$535.
