From the psychiatric viewpoint, this patient
probably met the diagnostic criteria for AS.
The patient’s WISC-III score showed a discrepancy
between his verbal and nonverbal abilities.
Moreover, the use of multiple nonverbal
behaviors, such as eye-to-eye gaze, facial expression,
and gestures during social interaction,
was impaired, and the patient showed
no interest in seeking to share leisure activities,
interests, or achievements with other people.
The patient also had a restricted pattern of interests
that was abnormal both in intensity and
focus (i.e., watching online videos).
