Social Problem as Human Construction
• Social problems are something socially constructed by human beings.
• All are human construction: slave systems, prejudice and discrimination, democracies and dictatorship, economic systems as capitalism or socialism, and norms, values, and beliefs.
• However, according to Marx (1964), these came to control us through tens or hundreds of years.
• People say, “This is the way it is and has been, and this is the way it will always be.” 2
