Using an old credit card or spatula, pull some of
the mixture onto the sides of the panel so that
they’re evenly coated. You can also lift some of the
mixture back up to fill in any gaps on the panel,
but you only have a few minutes to do this; once
the mixture starts to set, any marks will show up
in the final work (Figure 11.5).
Watch for a few minutes while it starts to set—as
the mixture re-wets the panel, additional bubbles
might form. Go ahead and pop them using your
Rocket Blaster (if you skipped the wetting/drying/
sanding steps when preparing the panel, you’ll
have a lot more bubbles to deal with since the
grain of the wood will lift creating air pockets that
will rise to the surface).
