Penguins are simply amazing. They are birds, but they cannot fly. They are not fish, but they can swim like a fish. Underwater, they fly along using their wings as flippers to push against the water. Penguins live on the Antarctic coast and the islands around it. Luckily for the penguins, these are cold and stony places where people do not want to live, so the penguins can live peacefully. They do not see people often, so they are not frightened of us like other animals. When scientists went to Antarctica to do some research about them, the penguins walked up to look at them, and even walked into their huts because they were so curious. There are many kinds of penguins, but emperor penguins are the best-known. They live in such cold places that they cannot leave their eggs on the ground because they would freeze. It is the males that look after the eggs, putting them on top of their feet and covering them with their bellies. They stay with the eggs for two months in freezing weather and do not eat for the whole time. clumsy on the land, but fast and beautiful in the sea as they catch fish underwater, penguins are amazing birds.
