In the present study, it was noted that cultivation in the GC hadan advantage over the PG in the formation of photosynthetic pig-ments in leaves of strawberry. On the other hand, the cultivationin the PG was more successful in the elevation of fruit yield as wellas in the accumulation of soluble sugars and organic acids in thefruits. We found that cultivation of strawberry in the PG was muchmore efficient, as compared to GC, in promoting the fruit yield andin raising the fruit quality. We propose that higher performance ofthe PG in the production of strawberry fruits is accomplished bysupplemental supply of LED lights of blue and red wavelength inaddition to ambient light.
