HV was positively correlated with 10-day accumulated
precipitation derived by the TRMM 3B42 product (Fig. 7). Correlation
coefficients were 0.37 (p b 0.05) and 0.43 (p b 0.05) for natural forest
and deforested areas, respectively. The slope of the regression lines
was different for natural forest and deforested areas, and the γ0 differences
between natural forest and deforested areas became small with
increasing 10-day accumulated precipitation. There was no clear difference
between dry forests and wet forests.
