Factor 2 was intrinsic factors that included political culture, political influence from national politicians, and local interest groups. Since the Thai political culture such as patronage system and national politics dominant are embedded in the Thai political behavior.
From Table 2, key informants perceived that Factor 2 was highly affected political behavior of local people in terms of participation in political addenda. At the same time, they also had highly affected the negative behavior in corruption. This behavior frequently initiated conflict and violence at the local level.
Before the Election Day, the level of political conflict that led to violence frequently increased because the local politics interest groups fought to win the election. To alleviate conflict and violence, local community compromised behavior was applied through community welfare, community benefit and social interest such as development of infrastructure and local road, involvement in religious and cultural events, and raise their voice in community meeting.
Government policy regarding the promotion of democracy to the local community is also important in local politics development such as people awareness of their votes, people participation in political events and political agenda.
