Solution : Modify the Paper Type Set (Paper Attributes) for a Paper Tray
You must set the correct paper type loaded in each tray in order for the machine to function properly.
Press the [Access] button (key symbol) on the Control Panel. The System Administrator - Password Entry screen will be displayed on the Touch Screen.
Enter the administrator password using the numeric keypad on the Control Panel, and then select [Confirm] on the Touch Screen. The System Administrator Menu screen will be displayed.
NOTE: The default password is 11111. Your password will be displayed as an asterisk (*). If you make a mistake, press the [Clear (C)] button and re-enter the password. If you want to cancel the operation, select [Cancel]. If the administrator encounters a problem with changing the access code, or forgets the code, a service call must be placed.
Select the [System Settings] button twice. The System Settings screen will be displayed.
Select the [Common Settings] button.
Select the [Paper Tray Attributes] button.
Select the [Paper Type] button.
Select the required paper tray.
Select the [Change Settings] button.
Set the paper type loaded in the tray. Use the table below to determine and enter the setting that corresponds to the description you want to use.

14 Bond Paper
80-98 g/m² (24 - 26 lb) paper. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 35 pages per minute. *
0 Plain Paper
71-80 g/m² (19 - 24 lb) paper. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 35 pages per minute. *
3 Recycled Paper
71-80 g/m² (19 - 24 lb) paper. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 35 pages per minute. *
161 Custom Paper
80-98 g/m² (24 - 26 lb) paper. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 35 pages per minute. *
162 Custom Paper 2
80-98 g/m² (24 - 26 lb) paper. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 35 pages per minute. *
163 Custom Paper 3
80-98 g/m² (24 - 26 lb) paper. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 35 pages per minute. *
164 Custom Paper 4
80-98 g/m² (24 - 26 lb) paper. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 35 pages per minute. *
165 Bond S
105 g/m² (28 lb) paper. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 35 pages per minute. This setting has a higher speed output than Heavyweight 1B paper for lower area coverage. *
5 ~ Transparency For use with transparencies. Transparencies can only be fed from Paper Tray 5 (Bypass Tray) and have an output speed of 8 pages per minute for color and 16 pages per minute for black and white. For best results, do not send more than 20 transparencies at a time to the output tray.
17 ~ Labels Label special application media. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 22 pages per minute.
1 ~ Heavyweight 1
105 to 147 g/m² (28 lb to 90 lb) index paper. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 22 pages per minute. *
8 ~ Heavyweight 2
224 g/m² (65 lb) Cover,
400 g/m² (110 lb) Index,
300 g/m² (80 lb) Cover paper. Output speed for 216 mm x 279 mm / 8.5 x 11 inch (A4) paper is 11 pages per minute. You are not able to Auto Duplex using this paper type setting. *
12 ~ Heavyweight 1 (Side 2) Color-exclusive or office environment paper for use on Side 2 while duplexing. In general, use for 106 - 169 g/m2paper.
16~ Lightweight * Office environment paper usually 16 lb. In general, use for 55 - 63 g/m2paper.
13 ~ Heavyweight 2 (Side 2) Color-exclusive or office environment paper for use on Side 2 while duplexing. In general, use for 170 - 220 g/m2paper.
~ Indicates paper type for Paper Tray 5 (Bypass) only.
NOTE: Different image quality settings can be selected for Bond Paper, Plain Paper, Recycled Paper and Custom Paper 1 to 5.
Enter the setting on the numeric keypad using the numbers listed in the following table.

128 Your Xerox Customer Support Engineer will set this if you are printing on paper that does not fall under any of the above categories. Use this setting to improve gloss on 28 lb. Bond paper
NOTE: Settings 16 and 64 are valid numerical values when printing from the printer. When making copies using these settings, the result will be the same as 8 and 32 respectively.
Poor-texture paper refers to paper whose surface is uneven when viewed against a strong light.
Select the [Save] button.
Select the [Close] button four times.
Select the [Exit] button.
