The free radical scavenging activity (FRSA) of the extracts
(1.0 mg/ml methanol) was measured using the stable DPPH free
radical according to Yen and Duh (1994). A 6 10 5 M solution
of DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl) in methanol was prepared and 4 ml of this solution was added with 0.2 ml of the
extract. The decrease in absorbance at 517 nm was measured at
60 min.
