Quantifying the use of primary energy can be a useful
reference in relation to the emissions of the greenhouse
effect due to housing construction, and therefore to the
environmental impact. Mithraratne and Vale of the
School of Architecture in Auckland (New Zealand) have
carried out an interesting study following this perspective
[4]. Later, the results of our research will be
compared with those stated by them. A new research
area about the use of construction materials is therefore
opened, which shall provide solutions to the problem of
emission, of CO2 reductions and of other contaminating
elements.
