One day Busba and her mother took a big procession to the hills, followed at a distance by Inao and his party. Busba was visiting a holy shrine in the hills, where she went looking for flowers with her attendants. One of the servants lost her way and met Inao, who in exchange for showing her the way back asked her to take a flower with a love message hidden inside for Busba. The princess' mother had noticed all this and began to wonder whether Busba would end up marrying Choraka or Inao. That night, the queen took her daughter into the temple and asked for a sign from the Buddha image; she lit three candles, one representing Busba, one for Inao and one for choraka. The candle of the rejected suitor would give the sign by dying out.
