the structure of the Tree of Life has its roots in one of the most fervent artistic periods in Italian art, the Renaissance. In the late thirties of the sixteenth century, Michelangelo rearranged Piazza del Campidoglio on the papal commission, giving it a new shape and providing a floor that would eliminate the existing dirt road. Precisely for this floor, the artist conceived and designed a complex and symbolic structure, starting from a lozenge design, culminating in a twelve-pointed star indicating the constellations.
From this Michelangelo drawing, Marco Balich has borrowed the shape of the Tree of Life, a grandiose construction in between monument, sculpture, installation, building, work of art that in addition to the Renaissance symbolism refers to more complex and common to many cultures, so the Tree of Life is a symbol of the Primordial Nature, the great strength from which all came.
