The role of
other environmental factors (pH, oxygen, nutrients etc.) and of cultural
factors (e.g. eating and cooking practices, sanitation and hygiene) may
be involved in the epidemiology of V. parahaemolyticus. However, the
interplay of all these factors and pandemic serotypes such as O3:K6, is
not understood. The incidence of infection by the pandemic strains did
not increase between 2006 and 2010 in southern Thailand
