In summary, the results of the current study indicated that S. hemiphyllum and S. henslowianum grew well in the fish farm, suggesting that the fish farm environment was suitable for the aquaculture of Sargassum spp., which in return could be suitable for implementation in the biosorption remediation process. The rapid growth rate, high nutrient bioaccumulation capacity and fodder potential make S. hemiphyllum a good candidate for seaweed/fish polyculture. Meanwhile, the superior heavy metals (Cu, Zn, Pb, Cd and Cr) accumulation capacity of S. henslowianum indicated it can be used as biofilter and/or biomonitor for heavy metal contamination
