According to Zvereva & Zhemchuzhina (1988), the
most critical factors affecting the number of eggs a
female can oviposit, include environmental temperature,
quantity and quality of larval diet, quantity and quality of
adult diet, mating, adult population density, age of flies,
oviposition substrate, photoperiod and genetic factors.
