In Nepal, livestock raising has been naturally ( traditionally ) integrated with crop production on the majority of farms which are under one hectare of land in size. In spite of such small farms, the average livestock holding has been 5.8 animals (excluding fowls ) per household. The farmers keep livestock ,mainly cattle and buffaloes , for draft , manure ,milk ,and , except for cattle , meet. The animals have been fed with roughage from paddy , wheat or corn ; supplemented with green forage , and grass from natural grazing land .
