By now Sarah did not have the positive feeling that she had when she first accepted her new position with Wise Research.
The final straw came when Sarah and Cindy were discussing pay,and Cindy shared an experience she 'd had on the Monday morning of Sarah 's arrival.Apparently Cindy and others had worked the previous Saturday and had been loaned a couple of interviewers from another Dallas - area mall. One of Cindy's interviewers had been befriended by one of these women, and a conversation had ensued about how long each had been with the company and what salary was made per hour.On Monday, the visiting interviewer had gone back to work and complained that Cindy's employee made more money than she did although Cindy's employee had been with the company a shorter time.Cindy had received a phone call from Katie at the main office. Katie told her that she was to fire her interviewer because the interviewer had discussed her salary with another employee.Sarah asked Cindy if the employee had Known about this rule or had been shown an employee handbook where this rule was stated. Cindy said that only supervisors and their assistants had employee handbooks and, to her knowledge, her assistant had never seen one.She did say that she felt that discussion of wages was
inappropriate, and Sarah stated that she did not feel that way.Sarah said that her salary was hers,it was based on her skills, and that she should be able to discuss it with whomever she wanted.
