Once the decision has been made, thought needs to be given to how and when
it will be communicated. After all the effort that has gone into analysing the
problem and generating and assessing possible solutions, it’s a shame for
the implementation stage to go wrong as a result of poor communication.
Particularly when things change, people can feel unsettled and in the absence
of adequate communication, they invent their own version of reality. This is how
rumours start, and it can be a time-consuming business to unravel and correct
the rumours when this could have been avoided with adequate communication
in the first place.
